Download the app from our website. There is no Play Store listing for now. Updates arrive inside the app, so you only download it once.
Only download KitabPadhoIndia from this website. Copies shared on WhatsApp or other sites may not be safe.

Get books and instruments from seniors at your college. You pay only after you've seen the item.

Find what you need
Browse listings from your college, or open your Semester Kit to see what seniors have listed. You can look around without an account.

Chat in the app
Verify your college ID, then message the seller. Ask for one more photo or a short video of the item. Your phone number stays private.

Meet, check, then pay
Meet at the campus pickup point in daytime. Check the item properly. Then pay the seller in person by UPI or cash. Never pay in advance.
If you're selling
Don't sell your old kit to the kabadiwala. A junior at your college needs it.

Get verified
Sign in and upload a photo of your college ID. A campus ambassador from your college checks it, usually within 24 hours.

List your item
Add 1 to 6 real photos. Choose Book, Instrument or Kit. Add a title, semester and condition grade. ISBN is optional for books. Set your price (the app suggests one) and pick a campus pickup point. A quick automatic safety check runs before your listing goes live.

Meet and get paid
Reply to buyers in the app chat. Meet at your pickup point in daytime. The buyer checks the item and pays you in person by UPI or cash.
Your account and college ID verification
You can look around without an account. Sign in when you want to report something or get notifications. Verify your college ID to buy and sell. Verification keeps KitabPadhoIndia for real students of your college.
Each level includes everything in the levels before it.
Chat in the app
Talk to buyers and sellers inside KitabPadhoIndia, so you never need to share your phone number. You need a verified college ID to chat.
Your privacy, your choice. Don't want others to see when you're online or when you've read their messages? Turn off online status and read receipts in Settings. Read receipts show only when both of you have them turned on.
How we keep listings and chats safe
Every listing and message goes through safety checks. Here is how they work.

Automatic checks
Listings and messages are checked automatically for abuse, scams, pirated books, prohibited items and shared contact details. Obvious abuse is blocked before anyone sees it.

AI and human review
Anything that looks suspicious is reviewed by an AI safety model (Anthropic's Claude) and by our team.

Safer photos
Photos are re-compressed, and their location (EXIF) data is removed, before anyone else sees them.

Reports go to our team
Report anything that feels wrong. Our team reviews reports and can remove listings, limit accounts or close them.

Exchange done and ratings
After you meet, close the deal in the app. It keeps listings up to date and helps students trust each other.

Meet and hand over
Meet at the pickup point. The buyer checks the item and pays the seller in person, by UPI or cash.

Both tap “Exchange done”
Buyer and seller each tap Exchange done in the chat. When both of you confirm, the item is marked Sold.

Rate each other
Each of you can rate the other from 1 to 5 stars. A seller's rating shows on their listings, so the next buyer knows what to expect.
Pricing guide
When you list an item, pick its condition grade and enter the MRP (the price when new). The app suggests a fair price for that grade. You can change it. The final price is up to you.

Frequently asked questions
Is KitabPadhoIndia free?
Yes. It is free for students today. You pay the seller directly, and we don't take a cut. We may introduce optional paid features later, with clear notice.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. Anyone can browse listings, Semester Kits and colleges without an account. You need an account to report something or get notifications, and a verified college ID to sell, chat, post Wanted requests, confirm exchanges and rate.
Who can join?
Students aged 18 and above. Tick the agree box, continue with Google or use your email and a password, then pick your college. To sell, chat, post Wanted requests, confirm exchanges and rate, verify your college ID. You buy and sell only with students of your own college.
What is a PatienceAI account?
KitabPadhoIndia uses a shared PatienceAI sign-in, so the same account also works in other PatienceAI apps. Your KitabPadhoIndia profile, listings and chats are used only for KitabPadhoIndia.
How does verification work, and what happens to my ID photo?
Upload a photo of your college ID in the app. A campus ambassador of your college reviews it, usually within 24 hours. Your ID photo is private: only you and the reviewers can see it. It is deleted right after review.
Will other students see my phone number?
No. All chats happen inside the app. If anyone types a phone number, email address or UPI ID in a chat, it is hidden automatically. If anyone harasses you, block them from their profile, then tap Report and choose “Harassment or abuse”.
Where do we meet?
Only at the campus pickup points listed for your college, like the Library gate or the Main canteen, and only in daytime. Read our safety guidelines before you go.
How does payment work?
You pay the seller in person at the pickup point, after you have checked the item. Use UPI or cash. KitabPadhoIndia does not process payments and never asks for advance payment. If anyone asks you to pay before you meet, don't pay. Report them in the app.
What if the seller doesn't show up?
You only pay when you meet, so no money has changed hands. Message the seller in the chat and fix another time. If they still don't come, tap Report and choose “Didn't show up”. Our team reviews reports.
Can I sell photocopied books?
No. Photocopied and pirated books are not allowed. Sell original books only. If you see a photocopy listed, report it and choose “Photocopied / pirated book”. See our list of prohibited items.
Is KitabPadhoIndia on the Play Store?
Not for now. Download the Android app from our website, or use the web app in your browser. When an update is ready, the Android app tells you and downloads it. You just confirm the install. You can also check in Settings, under Check for updates.
What if my college isn't listed?
We are adding new campuses. Email [email protected] with the subject “College request:” followed by your college name and city. You can also see the colleges we support.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete account. Your KitabPadhoIndia data is erased, including your profile and unsold listings. Your PatienceAI sign-in stays unless you email us to remove it too. See what is deleted and what is kept for a short time.
